Connoisaurus is a little bit of me. Half budding wine connoisseur half dinosaur. I got given the nick name Jennasaurus due to my um fiery alter ego. Put the two together and you get a connoisaurus.
Originally from Canada I moved to Central Otago, New Zealand in 2009. The plan was to stay for a winter season but never left. After discovering the local wines I slowly turned from ski bum to wine buff.
I’ve been studying wine through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (www.wsetglobal.com) for the past few years and will continue to study until I achieve my Diploma. Never being one to learn in a classroom or stay put for very long. I’ve decided that the best way to learn about wine is to go to the regions. I want to feel the soil composition between my toes, see the trellising training systems, and sense the moderating effects on the vineyard from the ocean/lake/pond near by.
I plan to use this blog to keep track of my thoughts, tastes, and travel through the wine regions of the world. I guess you can use this too, as a sort of “Where in the world is Carmen San Diego”.
So here I am a traveling wine connoisaurus.
Follow me by email or wordpress as I learn about wine, one glass at a time.
